There is a range of government and industry organisations that provide further information and resources on metal recycling.

  • The European Electronics Recyclers Association - EERA is a non-profit organisation that promotes the interest of recycling companies who are treating waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Europe.
  • The Europa website is a source of information on European legislation, including the WEEE directive.
  • The Electronics Resellers Association International (ERAI) is a global trade association that monitors, investigates, reports and mediates issues that are affecting the global supply chain of electronics.
  • The International Precious Metals Institute (IPMI) seeks and promotes the efficient and environmentally sound use, reuse, and recycling of precious metals from both primary and secondary sources.
  • The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) represents more than 1,600 private, for-profit companies that process, broker, and industrially consume scrap commodities, including ferrous and non ferrous metals, paper, electronics, rubber, plastics, glass, and textiles.
  • The Bureau of International Recycling is an international trade federation representing the world’s recycling industry, covering in particular ferrous and non ferrous metals, paper and textiles.
