James said, “During the race I saw numerous people on their backs, being administered oxygen, first aid or who had just given up, so I was glad that I had put aside the time to train to the best of my ability. The people of Cardiff were out to support all the runners so stopping was not an option!
“As someone who would have been out of breath walking to the car only six months ago, I was pleased to come 5,903rd out of 11,000 runners. Very many thanks to all my colleagues who supported me in raising funds for Care for the Family. Care for the Family has in turn decided to donate half of the money raised from the Cardiff half marathon to Ty Hafan, the children’s hospice of Wales, so I’m really pleased that my efforts actually helped two great causes.”
