Find your nearest metal recycling service or scrap yard
Our service and location finder is designed to help you to quickly find your nearest Sims Metal Management scrap metal dealer or to help locate your closest metal recycling service. If you have a particular type of metal waste that needs recycling, you can also find which Sims Metal Management scrap yards recycles it.
To use the location finder, you will need to select from at least one of the categories.
- Select an item from a pick list and then click 'add'
- It will now appear underneath that category alongside a red cross.
- Then press 'search'
- The search results will show a site name and location, web page and telephone number.
- To view site information click on the web page link in your preferred search result.
Please note:
- You can choose more than one category or multiple options within that category.
- To remove a selection simply click on the description alongside the red cross.
- The number alongside each choice in the pick list shows you how many scrap yards fit that criteria.
- If you click on 'County' first, the selection of services, facilities and materials wanted will be limited to what's available in that county.
- Choosing 'search' without adding selections will reveal details of all UK sites.
Remember - to remove a selection simply click on it alongside the red cross.
Example searches
- To find your nearest scrap yard, select your county from the pick list, or an adjacent county if yours is not listed and click on 'add'. It will now appear underneath, alongside a red cross. Then click on 'search' to view available results. You can add further counties if you are close to more than one or operate from multiple locations.
- To search for a particular service, e.g. skip hire select it from the pick list and press add. It will now appear underneath, alongside a red cross. You may wish to select another hire category too such as rolonof or bulk bag by repeating this process. Then click on 'search' to view available results. For popular categories, you may wish to select a county too to narrow down the search results.
- To seek out a recycling facility e.g. you are a scrap metal dealer and wish to find your nearest metal shredder service, select from the Facilities list and click on 'add'. Your choice will appear alongside a red cross below. Using the counties category will narrow down results if too many appear.
- If you have a type of waste to recycle and you wish to find your nearest scrap yard that accepts it, select from the 'Materials wanted', clicking on add for each waste type. Then click on 'search'. Select a county as well if too many scrap yards appear in the search results
